Competition 9: VOCAL SOLO, under 15 years of age on the day of the competition. This competition is for unbroken voices. Preliminary session to take place WEDNESDAY 7 July Final competition to take place WEDNESDAY 7 July Competitors are required to sing any one piece of up to 4 minutes' duration. First Prize: International Medal and £60; Second £30; Third £20 Competition 10: VOCAL SOLO, 15-20 years of age inclusive on the day of the competition. Preliminary session to take place TUESDAY 6 July Final competition to take place WEDNESDAY 7 July Competitors are required to sing two contrasting pieces; at least one of these must not be a folk song/song from a show. The total duration of the two pieces must not exceed 6 minutes. First Prize: International Medal and £200; Second £100; Third £75 Competition 11: VOCAL SOLO, 21 years of age and over on the day of the competition. Preliminary session to take place THURSDAY 8 July Final competition to take place THURSDAY 8 July Competitors are required to sing a programme of up to 8 minutes of music (excluding folk songs/songs from the shows). At least one piece must be from an oratorio or an opera. First Prize: International Medal and £300; Second £150; Third £100 Competition 12: SONGS FROM THE SHOWS, 16 years of age and over on the day of the competition. Preliminary session to take place THURSDAY 8 July Final competition to take place THURSDAY 8 July Competitors are required to present a programme of musical theatre of up to 8 minutes of music. First Prize: International Medal and £200; Second £125; Third £75 Competition 13: INSTRUMENTAL SOLO, under 18 years of age on the day of the competition. Preliminary session to take place WEDNESDAY 7 July Final competition to take place WEDNESDAY 7 July Open to all classical instrumentalists (including pianists) within the specified age-range. Competitors are required to present a programme of up to 5 minutes of music. First Prize: International Medal and £150; Second £100; Third £50 Competition 14: INSTRUMENTAL SOLO, 18 years of age and over on the day of the competition. Preliminary session to take place WEDNESDAY 7 July Final competition to take place THURSDAY 8 July Open to all classical instrumentalists (including pianists) within the specified age-range. Competitors are required to present a programme of up to 8 minutes of music. First Prize: International Medal and £250; Second £125; Third £100 PLEASE NOTE: All soloists must submit a recent recording, from the last 6 months, of 3 - 5 minutes' duration, with their application form. This must be on CD, DVD or as an MP3 file. The recorded music need not include your competition items, but must be suitable for each competition application. |
